Joel Bedor

Joel J. Bedor is an entrepreneur and former CPA. He studied mathematics at the University of New Hampshire and earned a graduate accounting degree from Northeastern University. After practicing public accounting with an international CPA firm in Boston and regional CPA firms in New Hampshire and Vermont, Mr. Bedor returned to his hometown of Littleton, NH, and established his own accounting firm.

In 1983, Mr. Bedor and his wife, Cathy, were part of a team that purchased the Mount Washington Cog Railway and made the long-neglected railway a success. In 1991, the Bedors and two other local families purchased the historic Mount Washington Hotel and Resort and devoted themselves to its preservation, restoration, and financial turnaround. Over the course of fifteen years at the Resort, Mr. Bedor served as co-managing director, chief financial officer, and, for a relatively short but critical time, general manager.

Since selling the hotel in 2006, Mr. Bedor continues to stay active by participating in real estate and entrepreneurial investments as well as serving as a director on several boards including the Connecticut River Bank, North Country Habitat for Humanity, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. He and his son, Bill, are the primary investors in ASSIST-U.S.
